Rosenberg, trusted name for pianos

Rosenberg Piano has been providing quality piano services to the Western New York State region since 1973. Our passion is acoustic pianos: grands; full uprights; studio uprights; console uprights and spinets. We service all makes and models of pianos. Our founder and team leader, Lynn Rosenberg, has over 50 years of experience in a variety of piano types and brands, and is considered the go-to guy by area institutions and musicians.

You benefit from an Aural tuner

Mr. Rosenberg was trained old school. He has perfect pitch. Lynn’s tunings are aural (by ear), analog not digital. He combines artistry with technical expertise to ensure your piano sounds and performs as it was meant to. The aural tuning tradition uses an understanding of piano acoustics, temperament theory, and interval relationships. This knowledge makes each practitioner more versatile and aids diagnosis of broader piano problems. Lynn adjusts his tuning to the specific instrument in front of him, optimized for that piano’s individual voice, and considering the acoustic properties of the environment — how the piano sounds in its location. The result is a rich, musical result instead of a technically correct but potentially sterile one.

You benefit from decades of experience

Lynn is well known for his personalized service in area homes and trusted relationships with institutions. To date, he has tuned over 20,000 pianos. As a credit to his tuning mastery, Lynn was the inhouse “floor” tuner for Steinway pianos at the respected Joseph Shales dealership in its store steps away from Rochester’s Eastman Theatre.

He has served as a recurring tuning provider for instruments owned by:

  • Roman Catholic Diocese of Rochester
  • The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints
  • Schools both public and private in regional districts

Lynn is also called upon by concert venues and done performance tuning for national & local artists such as Nate Rawls Band.
